Recent Accomplishments

Prof. David Hammer published part 3 of his X-pinch review with Tania Shelkovenko & Sergei Pikuz in Plasma Physics Reports in 2016.

Dr. Xuan Zhao recently published a portion of her 2014 Ph.D. thesis results in this paper in the Journal of Computational Physics, which describes the Discontinuous Galerkin (DG) scheme for solving the XMHD model equations.

Dr. Zhao also presented a poster at the 2014 International Conference on Plasma Science (ICOPS), titled "Shock Study with Extended-MHD Model Using a Discontinuous Galerkin Scheme."

At the 2014 APS-DPP meeting, Tom Byvank et al. presented this poster describing experiments and simulations of the dynamics of plasma jets under a change of current polarity.

Dr. Nat Hamlin had his work on relativistic modeling in XMHD published in the Proceedings of the 9th International Conference on Dense Z-Pinches (DZP 2014).
